most creators can shoot. fewer can edit. almost none can name what makes their videos work, in writing, in a way another person could replicate.
that gap — between "i made a hit" and "i know why it was a hit" — is the part most creators skip. it's also the part that pays.

every video gets a row. hook, format, length, post time, retention curve, comments-to-views, saves-to-views, shares-to-views. nothing complicated. a sheet, not a stack.
after fifty videos you have a baseline. after two hundred you can predict performance from the hook alone. after a thousand you know which formats are personal and which are general — the difference matters when you're charging brands.
formats are the unit.
not videos. formats. a format is a repeatable shape you can fill with new content next week. "i open the box, react in three seconds, cut to the part that matters" is a format. "i tried to make a sick video about this product" is not.

scripts in one place. b-roll labeled. project files named the same way every time. handoff to an editor that takes ten seconds, not ten minutes. boring stuff. the boring stuff is the moat.
i grew a tiktok to 120,000 followers between 2021 and 2024. the videos were fine. the system was the thing — i could ship five days a week without thinking, because the thinking happened once, in the system.
this is what brands actually buy.
logitech, samsung, hyperx, micron, be quiet!, fnatic — none of them booked me because the videos were pretty. they booked me because they could brief me once, get five cuts back, and not have to manage it. the cuts being good was a baseline. the system was the differentiator.
that's the part to build, if you're trying to do this seriously. shoot last. edit second. system first.
